What it is on the floor
Shallow closets leave long hemlines dragging on the floor and seasonal coats piled over chairs. We shaped this chrome rack to stretch wide for winter woolens and raise tall enough for full maxi dresses. When the season shifts or moving day arrives, the frame collapses flat for the car trunk.
Bright chrome uprights
The tubing handles damp air from the laundry room and salt tests without losing its mirror finish. Arched base supports stiffen the frame along the bottom so the uprights stay aligned under full loads of heavy denim.
Telescoping hanging rod
Pull the top rod out when extra hangers need a home, or push the sides inward to slip the frame into a narrow flat hallway. The height adjusts upward so formal dresses and long wool coats hang clear of the floor.
Rubber swivel casters
Thick rubber wheels turn fully in place and roll across hardwood thresholds and tile without marking the surface. When you push the loaded rack between the bedroom and ironing board, it glides quietly instead of rattling.
Bottom wire shelf
A wide mesh rack rests across the base supports to catch shoe bins, folded knitwear, or laundry baskets. Keeping luggage and storage boxes down here uses the dead floor area beneath hanging shirts and jackets.
