What it is on the floor
When one shallow closet has to handle heavy wool coats, work shirts, and shoes, the wall runs out of room fast. We build this rolling frame from plated chrome steel with wide spacing between the hanging bars so bulky outerwear hangs straight without crushing the garments next to it.
Telescoping hanging bars
The hanging bars pull outward to take on more hangers when laundry day backs up, then slide inward to clear doorways. Height buttons let you set the upper bar high enough for long wool coats and dresses without dragging on the floor.
Spacing between rods
We set the twin hanging rails wide apart so padded parkas on the front bar do not rub against suit jackets on the rear one. Both rows hang freely, which keeps collars crisp and lets air circulate between thick fabrics.
Lower wire shelves
The metal shelves across the base catch storage baskets, shoe boxes, and weekend bags that would otherwise sit on the carpet. Setting weight down low also keeps the base steady while the rack rolls across thresholds.
Plated chrome finish
The chrome coating handles the damp air of a basement or an active laundry room where wet garments hang to dry. It cleans with a dry cloth and takes the repeated scrape of metal hanger hooks without scuffing.
