What it is on the floor
Shallow closets leave heavy coats and work trousers squeezed together on thin wire hangers. We built this black steel rack with adjustable height and pull-out rod ends so long dresses hang clear of the base. When moving day arrives, the uprights collapse down flat without tools.
Telescoping hanging rods
Pull the side ends outward when laundry piles up, or slide them in for tight corners. The raised height gives long overcoats room to hang straight without pooling across the lower rails.
Collapsible steel frame
Spring pins lock the upright tubes into place during daily use. Release the joints to fold the entire frame flat when loading a vehicle trunk or sliding it behind an interior door.
Rubber swivel casters
Solid rubber wheels roll across bare floors, threshold strips, and low pile rugs. Step on the wheel locks once the rack is positioned along your bedroom wall or in the laundry area.
Bottom shelf storage
The lower crossbars hold hard-sided luggage, plastic storage bins, or rows of work boots. Keeping heavy gear down low keeps the base grounded while freeing up floor area elsewhere.
