What it is on the floor
When the bedroom closet runs out of rod space, this open steel frame steps in. It telescopes out when the laundry pile grows and shortens when floor area is tight. We built it on swivel casters so you can steer heavy loads between the laundry room and the bedroom without unloading.
Telescoping hanging rod
The top bar extends outward to give extra room for winter coats, suits, and floor-length dresses. Slide the ends back in when you need to tuck the frame into a narrow bedroom corner.
Base shelf for bins
The bottom shelf holds storage boxes, shoeboxes, and folded blankets off the floor. It keeps bulky containers out of the walkway while adding weight to the base of the frame.
Swivel casters that lock
The wheels roll over bare floorboards, low-pile rugs, and doorway thresholds with a full load of clothing. Step on the wheel locks to hold the rack parked by a wall.
Side hanging points
Hooks along the uprights catch shoulder bags, belts, hats, and tomorrow morning jacket. Everything stays visible and reachable in one spot beside your hanging shirts and pants.
