What it is on the floor
Shallow bedroom closets fill up fast once winter coats and heavy knits come out of storage. We built this black steel rack to hold full loads of everyday hanging clothes, then wrapped the entire frame in a zipped fabric cover to keep out dust and direct light. It rolls easily when you need to sweep behind it.
Zipped oxford cover
The thick fabric cover wraps around the black steel posts and zips closed down the front. It keeps off-season woolen coats and formal wear out of the dust, with small side pockets for belts and folding umbrellas.
Steel frame and bracing
We build the uprights from thick black metal tubing and tie the back together with an X-shaped brace. The screwed joints keep the uprights true when both rods carry heavy work jackets, denim, and full loads of laundry.
Casters across thresholds
The swiveling rubber casters turn smoothly across rugs, hardwood, and tiled hallways without scuffing the floor. Step on the front brakes once the rack sits by your wall so it stays put while you hang clothes.
Shelving top and bottom
Wire shelves catch folded sweaters, storage totes, and work boots beneath the lower hanging rod. You gain space for bulky bedding overhead while keeping your daily shirts and jackets separated and off the bedroom floor.
