What it is on the floor
Rented bedrooms rarely come with enough closet space, and clothing left on open hangers gathers bedroom dust over a season. We built this freestanding frame with steel poles, wire shelves, and rods, then wrapped the whole structure in a tailored fabric cover with a zippered front. Unzip it on busy mornings, or zip it shut to quiet the room.
Rods for lengths
The upper and lower hanging rods separate shirts from trousers, while an adjustable center rod shifts to make clearance for long dresses or winter coats. Heavy woolens hang straight without bowing the steel bar.
Shelving through the frame
Wire shelves sit among the hanging zones to take stacks of denim, storage bins, and folded sweaters. The bottom shelf lifts footwear off the floorboards, and the flat top surface holds luggage, spare blankets, or seasonal gear.
The zip cover
A full fabric enclosure wraps the sides and back, shielding garments from window sunlight and stray dust. When you want the closet shut away, pull the front zipper closed. Roll the front panel up when you want fast access.
Level on older floors
Older rental floors and wide floorboards are rarely flat. Screw-in leveling feet thread into the bottom of each corner post so the frame stands true, while screw connections through the metal tubing hold the uprights square.
